What's your WHY? 🤔 My long story short.. BOOAK developed just after I discovered I was pregnant at 35. At the time, I was working at a local coffee roasting store in Carlton. When I learned that fresh coffee beans were simply going to landfill, I was determined to put them to good use. On the sideline, I was undertaking my course in Natural Therapies and at the news of my pregnancy, I was determined to eliminate harmful toxins that could potentially be harmful to my baby. Fast forward to when our beautiful Luna entered the world, I was struggling with PND. Big time. I had lost my WHY and WHO. With my studies completed, I put my knowledge to use and began formulating and experimenting with natural bath and body products. Soon enough, this provided me with a renewed sense of purpose. Not only was I now a mother, but I realised it didn't have to stop there. Prioritising my mental health and wellbeing became my new mission and when I gave myself permission to embrace my "new" self, taking moments to replenish my mind and body by scheduling time for a bath or a self massage, I found I was refuelling my energy and mental capacity. What that provided me was priceless. For myself and my family. They too, benefited from my wellbeing. As I was able to take on responsibilities and demands in a more effective approach. I wanted to share that power. And so, that ultimately became my WHY. If you're a woman in business, I'd love to know your WHY! 👇

Efter endast 17 (!!) dagar 😳😳😳 Om man ger upp så lätt, var målen förmodligen inte viktiga nog. När Du sätter mål är det väldigt avgörande HUR Du gör för att Du ska ha störst chans att fullfölja och nå dit.🚀 1️⃣Skriv ner målen på ett stort papper. 2️⃣Kategorisera och prioritera målen. 3️⃣Ställ Dig själv frågan -”Varför är detta viktigt för mig?” 7 gånger. 4️⃣Sätt ett datum när målet ska vara nått 5️⃣Skapa en dreamboard & placera den så Du ser den varje dag. You have to do it for you. Not for your spouse, partner, significant other, etc…You have to do it for you. Not for how it will look on Instagram or whatever other social media you’re on. If the decision to better your life is not a selfish one outside influences will play a larger roll in your journey. It will be harder to say no to things that might derail your progress. Skipping the gym will be easy. Eating off plan will be easy. Excuses will be easy. When I’m working on mindset with clients the question I ask every time is what is your why. Not “I want to lose weight…” What is your deeper meaning? “I want to set a good example for my kids & feel better in my skin.” That’s an example of a deeper why. So when you’re starting this journey and maybe you’re struggling to hit your macros or get to the gym…pull out a blank sheet of paper and write down your why. Your why, you’ve decided to make changes and become healthier and to work on YOU, will help carry you through your journey. When you are tired, or the inspiration and motivation has left you and the habit of discipline is still being created, your WHY will be what lifts you up through those days of hardship, despair, and frustration, and the fleeting moments of what wanting to give up. Why are you starting, and what keeps you going. My why Picture 1 - Is a reminder of where I NEVER want to be in my life again. I was so unhappy so depressed, not realizing my actions and habits where causing issues in other areas of my life and effecting those around time the most. Let’s just say I had Hit rock bottom. My Why Picture 2: My beautiful family, I wanted to be what they deserved and more. It wasn’t fair to them to have a mom and a wife who was so miserable, and so unhappy and unfortunately it reflected onto them. My why Picture 3: I absolutely love what I do, and the kids I get to work with every day. My 3rd why are my players. They deserve a coach who can offer them the best, and if I can’t be the best version of me how can I expect them to become the best version of themselves. No matter how hard you try to overcome this feeling, you can't... I know exactly how you feel. My inner critic was constantly telling me that I was not doing good enough and that I had to do better. I kept pushing things to later because I was waiting for the perfect time to start. My self-confidence was at a very low point because of my perfectionism. At some point, I was like enough! I decided that I had to do something about it. That's how I started working on myself to overcome my perfectionism. 🎇Through the process, I came up with a this 4-step strategy that helped me ditch my perfectionism. 🚂 ALL ABOARD the Monday train! 🚂 I’m not gonna sit here and tell you to never miss one or that Monday means you have to wake up extra early to crush a workout. I’m not gonna tell you that you need to pull up your positive pants up and have a happy mindset today. I’m not gonna tell you to not have any “cheat” meals this week. I’m not gonna tell you that if you miss a workout on a Monday, the tone for the rest of your week is already messed up. I am gonna tell you that if all you do today is get up and show up to work, that’s enough. If you have a bad day and can’t seem to find the positive, you’re normal for that. Just because it’s a Monday, doesn’t mean you have to force yourself to show up. Show up today like you can and when you can. If all you do today is make it through the day, it’s enough for me and it should be enough for you. We all have different lives, different obstacles and different struggles. The last few years have brought on so many more obstacles and for alot of us, it’s starting to take a toll on us. I used to think that if I took a Monday off, my week was already fucked. I was so busy focusing on being “perfect” that I ended up burning myself even more. Yes, I preach staying active and healthy, I workout not only to be fit, but for the mental aspect as well. I struggle with anxiety and some days the struggles are just too much that getting through the day is the only thing I can do. You have to do what’s best for you and take it one step at a time. Mental health is just as important as physical health. ✨ . *I don’t own the rights to the music.*

So, how do we gain clarity and decide what is deeply meaningful to us? 🤔⠀ This is such an essential part of being a business owner. You really can’t set goals for your business if you aren’t connected to the longer term vision of your business, or your “WHY” for being an entrepreneur in the first place. If you don’t have clarity about this you run the risk of setting goals that have more to do with what other people want from you, or what you think successful business owners are “supposed” to do. This is a perfect recipe for not following through with said goals. In fact, you might even find yourself rebelling against the goals you set! 😨⠀ ⠀ This is why it’s so important to me to make sure my clients are setting goals that are connected with their values. You might be wondering what values are. I like to think about it this way - goals are like a city we're traveling to and values are the inner compass that's guiding our way. ✈️⠀ ⠀ For instance, your goal might be to earn $10K/month. But there are a number of different values that could be behind that goal. Contribution, freedom, growth, or innovation are some values that come to mind for me in this case, but it's unique to each person. 💫⠀ One way we can connect with our business values is to connect with the “WHY” behind our business. Why are you a business owner? It might be to have freedom to travel, or the flexibility to create your own schedule so you can spend time with family. Both of those are my own reasons for being a business owner, but yours could be something completely unique to you! Knowing the WHY of my business and the compass that is guiding me helps me set better goals for my business and know when an opportunity is aligned, and when it’s something to say no to. ⠀ So what about you?
