Good morning! Happy Wednesday! If you are having a tough week, don’t feel bad about the fact that we are only half way through it - this week will only ever be what you make it out to be. I do understand, however, that making something good out of something difficult, like being right in the middle of a difficult week, is much easier said than done. So here is a helpful technique for improving your week. We all have our strengths, unique mixtures of temperament, talent and skill that we are able to use impressively. These strengths are often involved in the activities which we enjoy. While we all have these wonderful things, we can often find ourselves forgetting about them in the middle of a difficult weak. As a result, we go about our day feeling sometimes unimpressed with ourselves and our situation. One way to shift the mood is to plan and complete “Strength Use Activities”. These are activities which involve the application of our strengths in a planned and intentional manner. By putting time aside to do what you are good at and most likely enjoy, you are allowing yourself to add some positivity to what could be a negative/difficult week. Sometimes it's hard to see a way out when we feel so trapped in the middle of "something" [insert: chaos/feeling lost/doom and gloom/hopelessness/never-ending demands/just the every day challenges of life]. . Once my "something", when I was feeling really down, was nothing more than the fact that opening my messy, over full wardrobe stressed me the hell out, to the point I thought I'd never be able to put clothes away in it without a melt-down ever again. Soon my pile of clothes on the side built up and up and then facing that was almost as bad as opening the wardrobe. To me, there was no way out, it just went round and round. Trivial though this sounds, not having an escape from this left me feeling helpless, full of dread and stuck. . The fact is, when we're in the thick of it, it's much harder to zoom out and see the bigger picture. To navigate a path through what feels like the unnavigable. But, more times than not, that path is there. Sometimes we just need a little help doing the problem solving to find it. More often than not, we're really not as stuck as we thought. Tonight, I was reminded how easily one can miss an opportunity to engage their child about their mental health.  The moment was during a typical night

Tonight, I was reminded how easily one can miss an opportunity to engage their child about their mental health. The moment was during a typical nightly routine as a family prepares for bed. I had just intervened with my daughters’ disputing their bedroom light. One was already in bed unwinding with social media, so she wanted the main room’s light off. Meanwhile, the other was attending to her wet hair in front of their long mirror. Hence, her wanting the light. This successful intervention was followed by me lying directly on my daughter already unwinding as she would not move over for me to cuddle her. We laughed. She showed me a funny reel. We laughed. I forced her to kiss me. Then, I teased our dog while leaving the bedroom, getting him super excited. We laughed again. I turned into our main bathroom along my path to say goodnight to my other daughter. The one who was prepping her hair. Big kisses and hugs. Laughs. More hugs and then goodnights. A regular night routine for billions. Right? Hence, me continuing my short jaunt into my room and shutting my door. Well, closing my door as I never did fully shut it as it was at this second her words amongst our goodnight reached my consciousness. My brain processed something like, “Leave before you make me sad.” It took about two seconds to process as we were laughing at the time. In retrospective, I conclude my mind thought she was expressing how she loved hugs from me. Her statement was so innocent as she delivered it with a smile and giggle. I immediately backtracked, asking if she was okay. I was smiling. Engaging. Fully alert, but not alarming. She joked it off. “It was nothing. Leave.” More laughs. My response was devoted. “What’s wrong?” More reinforcement from her that all is well. “Again. Are you okay, princess? I’m here for you, sweetie.” She covered her face with her hands. Boom. Tears flowed down her cheeks uncontrollably. I wrapped myself around her. She buried herself into my shoulder. Please be vigilant for those ever so trivial lifelines our children toss to us. Your prudence will prevent further anxiety, sadness for your child and possibly identifying depression. #depressionhelp

 How Sound Healing Helps Your Brain and Body The general idea of sound healing is that your organs, tissues, and cells each emit a certain frequency. For example, the human brain produces a range of vibrational frequencies that change in different mind states, like relaxation, stress, love, etc.

I am realizing more and more that self acceptance and love is a choice and not a bench mark. Ever since I can remember I have put so much stress on myself by always approaching everything with conditions that I have to meet in order to feel good about myself. Every single moment I’ve always been fighting for worthiness. Afraid to not measure up. And to be honest one day I just got tired… I realized how exhausting it was to always be “on”. Always making sure my body looked good, ate clean that day, worked so many hours that week, making sure I made everyone happy that day… hell it got so bad that I couldn’t even play a video game without getting anxiety about failing! I never ever just relaxed! So I urge you to learn how to start dropping the conditions you have on yourself. Perhaps one a day that come up. Declare yourself unconditionally worthy and perfectly YOU now! Not later, right the F now! Because it’s true, whether you start claiming it now or ten years from now when you’re too exhausted to give a shit anyways. Feel the power you have to give yourself that unconditional love that perhaps you’ve never received. You will also be amazed how much more powerful inspiration is than discipline. Trying to snap out of it 2️⃣ They’ve been JUDGING themselves for not being able to snap out of it « You shouldn’t react like this » « You have a big problem » « What is wrong with you?? » … Can you see the little prison that they created around themselves? The solution? ALLOWING the feelings to be there. OBSERVING the sensations they create in your body. As a significant other, you need to step up higher for that someone you know who wouldn't willfully come to you to discuss his challenges. Or, rather, he is unable to bring himself to discuss the roots of his worries. It is easier to offer assistance to one who asks; how about someone who doesn't but desperately needs it? Being family, related by blood or otherwise, stretches through some duties we owe one another but are often overlooked. One of such is offering your support when one of your own is going through tough times; in whatever capacity. Psychological support for a friend going through depression is something you definitely owe them.
