Body Neutrality. For a very long time I thought that I would never “come to terms” with the way I viewed my body… Hey…it’s ya girl Gracie, and I’m here to tell you that myself, along with all of your other favorite influencers have days, weeks, or even months where we struggle with body image, even if it isn’t obvious. So what is “Body Neutrality”, and why do I choose this perspective over “body positivity”? To be honest, being “positive” about my insecurities all of the time isn’t realistic for me! It creates a form of internal conflict between what I’m REALLY feeling and how I deal with it; like I’m not being true to myself. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean that I don’t always appreciate my body, because I do. Body NEUTRALITY allows me to understand that it’s OKAY to have days where I don’t feel absolutely amazing with the way that I look; but it doesn’t take away from the APPRECIATION that I still have toward it and all of its amazing functions. What really changed my mindset: Over the past few years, I’ve seen my body transform and change in all sorts of ways. However, in every stage that my body has been in, I’ve somehow managed to find something to be insecure about. I’d often catch myself saying “I wish I looked like the way I did then” neglecting the fact that EVEN “THEN” I still had things that I was insecure about. The fact of the matter is that, you will always have insecurities. It’s human; but wishing you looked like the way you did during a completely different part of your life is not worth your time. Hopefully that perspective will help someone who’s been struggling with body image. Just know that you’re not alone and your worth isn’t dependent on your appearance. Ever. Who you are is what matters most. you’re so right!! it’s okay to accept that some days, you’re not going to be AS confident as you’d like, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t being appreciative of your body in all stages.🥰💓 love this gracie😘😘

I like this. Too much positivity can have a negative affect as well. This sounds like a great balance 🙌

Such an interesting way to look at it & I loved reading your thoughts🙌 I myself don’t really label it but I guess I do a similar thing, because it’s so normal to feel less confident in your skin sometimes but it doesn’t mean you are any less❤️
